We at Bijoux de Chagall, would like to explain why some Jewellery costs a lot more than others. I’m sure you know the old saying “you cannot get something for nothing”. Well that is true in many walks of life and definitely none truer than in Jewellery.
Now, you may or may not know that all our Jewellery is handcrafted to order in London UK using recycled, sustainable and Eco-friendly solid precious metals.

By telling you how, where and what we use to make our Jewellery it should help explain as to why we are not the cheapest.

We DO NOT and WILL NOT use Gold plating on any of our Jewellery.

The market place is full of cheaply produced plated Jewellery and although it may look appealing and cost a lot less, the longevity of this type of Jewellery is usually short lived.

Much of this Jewellery is produced unethically in Asia by unethical factory owners paying their workers a pittance for working long hours in poor conditions. Also, you may be interested to know that plating materials is not sustainable for our Planet. When an item is Gold plated only a micro layer of Gold is used and is very difficult, if not impossible, to re-cycle.

All of our precious metals are recycled by a well respected bullion company here in the UK. When any of our items has been made it can easily be recycled back at a later date if need be. So, our Jewellery materials are sustainable.

Regarding our gemstones, wherever possible we use Lab created gemstones which have identical chemical composition and characteristics as Earth mined gemstones and are every bit as real. Where it is not possible to get Lab created gemstones, we make sure that they are at least ethically mined. That is to say they are mined without exploiting the workers or the environment and are from Conflict Free zones.

We like to think our Jewellery is something to treasure for many years to come or even a lifetime. Like our Jewellery, we are here for the long haul and looking to be around for many years to come, we are not just here to make a “quick buck”.

So, you can rest assured no matter what you buy from us it will be made from the highest quality materials and not only that, they are Eco-friendly and sustainable and do not cost the Earth!!
